I called it, Rove's roving

Okay, about eight months ago I was browsing Youtube when I came across a Gem: Rove McManus (Rove) interviewing Elmo (and then later Kevin Clash, the voice of Elmo)

After I saw this I subsequently watched all the youtube clips from Rove I could get my watery eyes to have a look at. You should do the same. I became an instant fan. I've always been a fan of obscure but talented people. I turned everyone in my office onto Rove. You see, when I like something, and I mean really like something, then I tell everyone I know and each one of them I tell three times.

I kept saying, "when Jay Leno retires Rove would be perfect" he's naturally funny and really relaxed. In any case, I kept saying "because of Youtube, I'm really thinking Hollywood is going to pick up on him. Yesterday I ran around to each cube to tell everyone how right I was, because last night Rove was a guest on The Tonight Show.

Now, according to an article I read, Rove fit the interview in with some other meetings he and his manager had scheduled in LA. Now when you stop to think about it, in reality, there is NO reason whatsoever for Rove to be on Leno as a guest. His show is not viewed in America, they didn't mention his Youtube popularity, nor did they talk about voicing the neurotic crab in Finding Nemo, and Americans in general don't care about 'Oz' and what's going on there - so even I am raising my eyebrows at what those meetings were all about and wondering 'why now?' And okay, yeah maybe I'm patting myself on the back for calling this one. I'm just surprised it's happening this quick!

Here's the interview!

Aussie reactions can be seen in this Rove interview talking about his Tonight Show appearance.

Mark my words America, this is not the last you've seen of Rove. And that's bloody sweet!
