Probably the saddest news I got This past week was when I read Denis McGrath's post regarding Blood Ties on Lifetime. First of all WHAT THE HELL LIFETIME?! Let's just analyze this for a moment shall we?
WGA Strike; Check
No new episodes of Army Wives; Check (it wasn't that great of a show, anyway...even my mom said so.)
No new episodes of Reba; Check
Blood Ties is produced in Canada; Check
Blood Ties isn't effected by the WGA Strike and can continue being produced; Check
Blood Ties has a HUGE fan base - ALL OVER THE WORLD; Check
Blood Ties gets better reviews than CBS' Moonlight; Check
Blood Ties brought a younger audience to the Lifetime network; Check
Lifetime hasn't renewed Blood Ties because...... ?
Lifetime slaps its new viewers in the face because..... ?
Now. Listen Up Blood Ties Fans... you know that awesome show Family Guy, and how it got canceled...and how because of massive DVD sales (and a little help from Adult Swim) Fox picked it back up? Remember?
BUY BLOOD TIES DVDs when they come out. BUY THEM FOR EVERYONE YOU KNOW. NO FREEBIES. Even if you've downloaded ALL the torrents. BUY THEM. ASK FOR THEM FOR PRESENTS. TELL YOUR LIBRARIES TO BUY THEM. Maybe THEN Lifetime will wake up.
HEY... USA NETWORK! HEY want more women viewers? I hear Blood Ties is probably looking for a new US network... interested?

Okay, 2nd attempt at comments. I previously said "I can't believe there are no comments considering the passionate attitude of the Blood Ties fans". How could they have missed your blogs? Hmmmmm. I read through your comments and chuckled because what you wrote is almost exactly what I have said. Well almost, I am not immune to schmid's sexual draw but I don't base my like or dislike of the show on his presence. I've shifted the small amount of leasure time I have back to books because there are too few TV shows able to keep my interest beyond a few weeks. None of the new shows except Blood Ties peaked my interest (Ghost Whisperer is fun and campy but not a lot of substance) and I'm so tired of CSI's, Law & Order, Grey's anatomy etc.
It's too bad I didn't find your blog while the show was actually running - it would have been fun to exchange commentary. I started a live journal just to air my own personal viewpoint on the show without worrying some nutty fan felt obligated to rip me a new one because I didn't agree on their commentary, but it's mostly a dumping ground for my adolescent thoughts (even though I'm a middle aged married woman w/3 kids).
In any case, I'll check back here soon to see what else you have to say about the events surrounding the desperate BT fans actions. I, for one am not happy the show is most likely gone - it's difficult to find a show as fun a distraction as BT.
Take care.
Susan
Goodness this is late, but I just got around to reading it. BLAHHH, seriously LIFETIME. I urge all BT fans to go out and buy the DVDs when they are released. Hopefully they'll stick to $49.99 or below. In other news as of now, the strike is almost officially over so we won't have to see re-runs of "Lost" or shows like "Well Hung: Who created the Keychain and why?"
